After receiving several emails from normal drinkers who have been affected by someone who is an alcoholic, I decided to look more into this and that is where the idea of this podcast episode came from.

This Recovery Elevator podcast episode is dedicated to Frank Churchill. Sobriety gave me the opportunity to be fully in the moment when visiting or speaking with my Uncle Frank who recently passed away on June 30th. This is was one of the hardest things I have dealt with, but I did not drink over it and don’t plan on drinking over it in the future.

In this episode, I discuss my recent challenge with a 48oz family-sized bag of Reese’s Pieces. I have always allowed myself to indulge/binge with sugar since I have heard that chocolate and sugar can be helpful in recovery but is this really the case?
The basis of this Podcast comes from an article written by Matthew Lovitt of Sober Nation called Sugar: Sobriety Friend or Foe.
I mention the Shawn Stevenson Model which is an informative website about nutrition and he has a great podcast also. Proper nutrition has been critical in my recovery.
