Travel the world… without alcohol

On Recovery Elevator sober travel trips, since we aren’t wasting time nursing hangovers in the morning, we fully take advantage of the day and experience what Thailand and Cambodia have to offer. Not only is traveling without alcohol possible, it’s way more fun. We mistakenly think alcohol is enhancing travel, but it’s what prevents us back from genuinely connecting with other cultures and fellow travelers.

On this trip of a lifetime, we will be cruising down the Bangkok canals on a bicycle, visiting Elephant World in Kanchanaburi, visiting the Khao Yai national park in Thailand, getting a first-hand look at the Cambodian culture with an overnight homestay and all the highlights or the archeological wonder Angkor Wat.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I fly into Bangkok and depart from Cambodia?

Airport transfers from BKK to the hotel in Bangkok will take place from 9 am to 2 pm on January 20th. If you’re flying into Bangkok the day before, you can meet at the Bangkok International Airport (BKK) on the 20th, or meet at the Royal Princess Larn Luang at 2 pm January 20th.

Departure flights out of Siem Reap (REP) on January 31st may be booked at any time that day. We encourage you to book departure flights in the afternoon so you can partake in the closing session, but we understand this may not be possible depending on outgoing flight options. The closing session will end at 11 am on January 31st, and the airport is less than 30 minutes from the airport.

How do I get a Visa to get into Cambodia?

There are several passport agencies where you can send your passport for a Cambodian Visa. We recommend going through the Cambodian Embassy in Washington DC which costs $30 and takes about 2 – 3 weeks to process. You’ll need a 2′ x 2′ passport photo for the application and you can get these pictures taken at Costco.  You can also expedite the visa by using one of the companies listed below for arounf $150-$200.
